The Camera Clinic in Tulsa.

The other day while shooting a wedding my Sony Nex with the beutiful Voigtlander 40mm f/2 lens slipped from my hands and smashed to the ground lens first. I just picked it up and kept shooting with my other camera without showing too much concern. Later I looked over the camera and discovered that my favorite lens was rendered useless…the focus ring was deted so badly that it couldn’t be turned a full revolution. Even worse I bought this lens used with no papers and Voigtlander is not an American company. It took weeks just to get a reply back via email without much hope of getting it repaired from them. Then Twitter to the rescue! One of my favorite things about the current age we live in is one simple tweet or Facebook post can open up all kinds of immediate leads. One of them was to check out this little spot on 32nd and Harvard called the camera clinic. They had no site or really anything else to let you know they existed except for word of mouth. When you walk in, a little lady is sitting behind a huge desk wearing a massive pair of goggles with tools and camera parts strewn about. It really seems like a movie scene or something. She obviously knows a ton about SLR’s and their lenses because as soon as she saw my lens she noticed that it was a copy from a semi rare Nikon lens made in the 70′s, which I kinda thought only I knew that…

Anyway, she fixed my lens and the cost was really cheap. If you live in Tulsa and need some repairs on your analog or digital SLR cameras and lenses then go see the Camera Clinic!

So, does she take mail order repairs? i have a Nikon 18-105mm that i dropped. While not a fancy lens, I loved it. There are no camera repair places actually in Baton Rouge that i know of.

    • I’m sure she would, you could send it to me.

    Great picture

  • I need a lens replaced on a Kodak, but everywhere I’ve searched on line it will cost $95.00, and the camera cost $170.00. I’m going to try her out and see what she can do for me! Thanks for the post!

  • Thank you so much for posting this review – I’m going to give her a call!!
