Refresh Mode

Sometimes in the midst of heavy shooting schedules I need to refresh myself. I just need to clear my mind and creatively challenge myself so things don’t look the same. Many times it’s just trying out new filters or digging in Photoshop to learn something new. Occasionally I strike gold and come up with something great, but most of the time I trash everything and get back to work because I realize how much time I’ve lost. Lately I’ve been editing like a madman on the weddings I have shot this year and when I’m not editing or shooting, I’m traveling. My life as of late has been pretty crazy. Because of this hectic schedule, last week I decided to spend the evening in my refresh mode. If I don’t do this then my work becomes really programmed and I hate that feeling.
This is what I came up with in the refresh mode. I settled on doing a mash up of images, sort of like a double exposure. I liked the outcome, so I’ve committed to doing a series on the work. I’m wanting the series to last indefinitely, so as I get shots that will work, I’ll post them. When I get five images completed I’ll start a new album with them in my “exclusive” section. Let me know what you think!
